NAB Sheds Aussie Jobs to Hire in India and Vietnam

National Australia Bank confirmed that it is cutting hundreds of jobs, one day after ANZ said it would offload 3,500 roles.

NAB is cutting 410 jobs in its technology and enterprise operations in Australia, according to a «Reuters» report. In turn, the Australian lender is creating 127 roles in India and Vietnam. Some separate tech roles are also being created in Australia.

«The environment we operate in is constantly changing and we need to have the right structures alongside the right skills and capabilities in the right locations to help us deliver for our customers,» NAB said in a statement.

This follows an announcement by local rival ANZ to cut 3,500 jobs as well as reduce engagement with consultants and other third parties in a move aimed at «eliminating duplication and complexity».
