New York-based Citigroup has reshuffled some top executives within its investment and corporate banking unit in the region, finews.asia has learned.

Ex-Asia head of capital markets and advisory Jan Metzger has been appointed to lead the investment banking franchise for the region, according to an internal memo seen by finews.asia.

Former Asia corporate bank head Kaleem Rizvi has been named as the corporate bank head for Asia North and Australia while K Balasubramanian has been appointed as head of corporate banking for Asia South. Gunjan Kalra will continue to lead Citi’s commercial banking business for Asia North, Australia and Asia South.

Business Outlook

According to the bank, its pipeline remains strong with expectations of increased activity across M&A and capital markets.

«Looking beyond episodic activity, our corporate bank is driving integrated client delivery in a challenging macro environment — and with it, long-term relationship revenue – while the commercial bank is continuing its strong momentum and embedding profitable growth for our broader franchise,» said the memo authored by banking head Peter Babej and international head Ernesto Ernesto Torres Cantú.

When contacted, a spokesperson of the bank confirmed the contents of the memo.
