US payment card firm American Express has announced the opening of a new innovation center in Singapore to focus on artificial intelligence, machine learning and more.

American Express has launched the «Decision Science Center of Excellence» (CoE) in Singapore, according to a statement. 

CoE will focus on the application of data sciences for credit and fraud risk model development and production, using artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML) and natural language processing. Over time, AmEx also plans to expand CoE’s focus to research that leads to the development of other related use cases to support growth at the firm.

Hiring Specialists

American Express will begin hiring for the global innovation center immediately, aiming for candidates with a master’s degree or PhD in mathematics, engineering, finance, computer science or other equivalent technical programs for data scientist and AI or ML researcher roles.
