He brings over 33 years of experience in the treasury business, as well as familiarity with the Taiwan market, having worked in Taipei from 1992 to 1995.

DBS has appointed Andrew Ng as chairman and director of DBS Bank Taiwan, a role he will hold concurrently with his appointment as head of treasury and markets and director of DBS China, according to a report in Taiwan's «Liberty Times.»

Ng joined DBS in 2000 and has been instrumental in leading DBS Treasury and Market’s expansion in the region, and expanded DBS’ capabilities in generic and exotic derivatives, according to his profile.

DBS entered Taiwan, one of its six key development markets, in 1983.  Taiwan also hosts the bank's third technology development center after Singapore and India.

Lin Xinchuan, general manager of DBS Bank (Taiwan), said the bank will tap on Ng's expertise in financial markets and liquidity management, to further expand its wealth management and investment-related businesses as it deepens its commitment in Taiwan, «Liberty Times» reported.
