Dutch Investment Manager to Develop ESG Solutions in Asia
NN Investment Partners has announced a push to increase focus on responsible investing in this region, and will be opening a responsible investing hub in Singapore.
The firm will be establishing a responsible investing team in 2022, which will include dedicated ESG research analysts and three specialists to lead its stewardship and engagement activities on responsible investment-related trends and topics in the Asia-Pacific region, including a senior ESG expert to lead the responsible investing team, the firm said in an announcement on Monday, «Business Times» reported.
The head of the Asian responsible investing team will report to Arnoud Diemers, head of innovation and responsible investing platform in The Hague, as well as Gopi Mirchandani, the firm's Singapore CEO.

In the announcement, NN cited a growing focus among Asian investors and companies towards ESG-integrated solutions and sustainable business practices. The company also highlighted its growing involvement in sustainability-related matters in Asia and engagement with corporates and sovereigns in the region.
NN's ESG-integrated strategies that invest in the Asian region include Asian debt, Asian High Yield and China A shares equity, managed with partner China Asset Management Company, but the firm is looking to grow its product suite.
Its Asian credit and Emerging Markets debt strategies are managed out of Singapore, led by Joep Huntjens, head of Asian Fixed Income.
According to NN, the firm managed about 293 billion euros ($345 bilion) in assets for institutions and individual investors worldwide, as at March 31, 2021.
