Its new offerings will give Singapore investors access to ESG, sustainable, and climate funds—for both equities and fixed income—from fund managers including J.P. Morgan Asset Management, Natixis-Mirova, PIMCO, Schroders and UOB Asset Management-Robeco.

Singapore-based digital wealth advisor Endowus is paving the way for retail investors to gain access to better sustainable investing options with the launch of new ESG-themed portfolios.

Endowus chief investment officer Samuel Rhee said the ESG portfolios «empower individual investors to secure a better financial future for themselves while also making a positive impact on society and the planet.»

Investor Demand

According to Endowus, ESG funds have historically been expensive and out of reach to individual investors, especially in Singapore. At the same time, while ESG funds are entering mainstream investing, investors have yet to fully embrace ESG funds.

A survey covering 1,100 participants in Singapore showed that ESG investing resonates with over 93 percent of respondents, but 28 percent currently hold such funds. The main reasons include a lack of understanding or knowledge of ESG investing (58 percent), and a lack of good options (43 percent).
