Ng brings a wealth of experience to the start-up, having taken part in more than 100 private equity fund investments and co-investments and served as an advisory board member for over 20 private equity funds globally.

Germany-headquartered Moonfare has hired a private equity specialist to its senior management team, with Winson Ng joining as chief investment officer, the firm announced on Wednesday.

Ng was previously with UBS since 2014 where he was last a member of its global wealth management’s private markets due diligence team. Before that, he was the managing partner and co-founder of QWin Capital in London, and spent 11 years in various roles at Singapore sovereign wealth fund GIC.

In his new role Ng, based in London, will work closely with Moonfare managing director Magnus Grufman to drive the continued growth of the firm's fund offering, which is expanding rapidly from private equity into new asset classes, the announcement said.

Democratizing Private Markets

Moonfare aims to democratize investing in private markets by providing individual investors access to private markets funds on its digital platform.

The firm also hopes to grow its position in digital private markets investing and its presence in the United Kingdom, and has hired Sweta Chattopadhyay as investment director and Ed Cotton as partnerships manager, who join its London team from bfinance and Delio, respectively.

«From fund sourcing, selection and diligence, to our expansion into new asset classes and categories, Winson’s strategic guidance, analytical mastery and relationships with general partners globally will prove invaluable to Moonfare as we continue writing our growth story,» Steffen Pauls, CEO, said in the statement.
