ASEAN Financial Innovation Network (AFIN) today announced the appointment of Neil Parekh as an Advisor to its board of directors.

Parekh, who brings more than 30 years of global experience in the financial services industry in the Asia Pacific region, U.S. and Europe, will work to advance and improve AFIN and its flagship product, API Exchange (APIX) – a global cloud-based sandbox and marketplace for financial institutions and fintechs to collaborate and deploy solutions rapidly.

Damien Pang, AFIN board director of AFIN and deputy chief fintech officer of the Monetary Authority of Singapore, said in a statement that Parekh's experience will «help AFIN chart the strategic growth of APIX as the premier go-to platform to create a more collaborative and inclusive global financial ecosystem.»

Extensive Experience

Parekh is currently a partner and head of Asia, Australia & New Zealand at Tikehau Capital. He was previously head of corporate and institutional banking coverage for Asia at Natixis, and has held senior roles at DBS (global head of FIG and head of Middle East) and Societe Generale (global head of non-investment grade finance and head of U.S. debt capital markets), and worked with Bank of America in various product and client coverage roles.

AFIN, established in 2018, is a non-profit network established in 2018 by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), the World Bank Group’s International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the ASEAN Bankers Association.
