The Hong Kong FinTech Week will feature over 200 speakers from 28 countries covering over 75 hours of content regarding the key regional and global developments in the financial technology industry. Here are the top five attractions to look out for.

1. Top Unicorns

The event will feature leading and fast-growing financial technology unicorns including China’s Lufax, U.K.’s TransferWise, Australia’s Judo Bank and more.

Attendants will have the opportunity to hear from the founders and CEOs of such top firms share their insights and visions about the dynamic fintech market.

2. Fintech Regulators

Major regulators form Hong Kong and elsewhere will also be present to share recent policy developments that have supported innovation and industry growth. 

Local regulatory representatives include the chief executives of the Insurance Authority of Hong Kong, the Securities and Futures Commission and the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, which will host a series of sessions focused on the usage of distributed ledgers in cross-border trade finance, data analytics and artificial intelligence. 

Also present will be senior executives from the People’s Bank of China (PBoC), Shenzhen Municipal Financial Regulatory Bureau and Bank of Thailand.

3. InsurTech

One major sub-sector in focus will be insurance technology and the event features founder and CEOs of fast-growing companies including India’s largest insurance market place PolicyBazaar and China’s first online insurer ZA (ZhongAn) International.  

The event will also showcase up and coming players in Hong Kong including Blue (backed by Tencent and Aviva) and Bowtie (backed by Sun Life), one of the newly licensed «virtual insurers».
