Hong Kong's Securities and Futures Commission has banned Tim Leissner from the industry for life for his connection to 1MDB crimes.

Former Goldman Sachs responsible officer Tim Leissner has been banned from the industry for life by Hong Kong's Security and Futures Commission (SFC), the regulator announced in a press release.

«The SFC considers that Leissner’s conduct demonstrates a serious lack of honesty and integrity and called into question his fitness and properness to be a licensed person,» the regulator said in the announcement.

Leissner admitted that between 2009 and 2014, he had actively obtained business from 1MDB with others through the promise of bribes and kickbacks to government officials in Malaysia and Abu Dhabi; embezzled funds from 1MDB; and laundered said funds.
