The private bank at Barclays has lost a banker known as a «big-hitter» at its London offices. He has resigned after twelve years with the firm.

Barclays Wealth Management has lost an ultra-high net worth banker in its London offices. Bobby Kapur, a Managing Director in the bank's Non Resident Indian (NRI) division has resigned after twelve years with the bank, finews.asia can reveal.

He joined the British bank in 2006 from Merrill Lynch. A seasoned banker, Kapur has previously worked with Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs. At the time he joined Barclays, the bank said he was to have a key role in it's expanding Non Resident Indian business.

Significant Indian Business

At the time of joining, he reported to Michael Morley who was then-head of Barclays International Private bank. Morley has since left to head Deutsche Bank Wealth Management's U.K. business.

Although it is not known whether Kapur and Morley intend to work together again, Deutsche Bank has a significant shore and offshore India business and has made much of its intent to hire and expand that segment.
