Barclays Adds Four Veterans to Private Bank in Singapore

London-based Barclays has announced several leadership appointments for its private banking division in Singapore, finews.asia has learned.

Barclays has announced four new appointments for its private banking division in Singapore, according to an internal memo seen by finews.asia.

40-year ultra-high net worth veteran David Nendick has relocated from London to become team leader for the Southeast Asia market with a focus on expanding coverage in Thailand and Malaysia.

Clare Yang joins as team leader for North Asia after previous experience advising clients in Greater China, including Hong Kong and Taiwan, most recently as executive director at J.P. Morgan. Prior to that, she worked at Credit Suisse and UOB.

Jessine Chua has been named as senior private banker for Malaysia and Singapore after more than 20 years of experience at LGT and UBS.

Nendick, Yang and Chua report to Evonne Tan, head of private bank, Singapore at Barclays.

Strengthening Product Capabilities

Aside from the front office, the bank has also appointed Jerome Idres as head of investment services platform & product management (ISP) in Singapore, reporting to head of investments Asia Ken Sze. Idres has nearly 25 years of experience across private banking and capital markets, most recently at Deutsche Bank Private Bank.

When contacted, a spokesperson for the bank confirmed the contents of the memo.
