Artificial intelligence firm Eigen Technologies is set to expand in Asia after raising millions from heavyweight investors.

Eigen Technologies takes unstructured qualitative data and turns it into information which companies can analyse and interpret. The firm is targeting clients in the financial, legal, and professional services sectors. Singapore wealth fund Temasek has joined Goldman Sachs as investors, the firm said in a media statement.

The company raised 13 million pounds sterling in its latest funding round. The money will be used to expand the business in London, New York and other global markets including Asia.

Targeting Asia

«With our partners, each of whom is a leader in its sector, we will continue to expand across multiple markets and geographies, as well as doubling down on our investment in research and development,» said Lewis Z. Liu, co-founder and CEO of Eigen Technologies.

With established clients in the banking sector including Evercore, ING and Goldman Sachs, Eigen is hoping that the new injection of funds will support further penetration into financial services.
