UBS has further strengthened its investment banking line-up. After Marco Illy, the Swiss giant has now landed a senior Morgan Stanley executive.

Sebastian Pollems is moving from Morgan Stanley to UBS, where he will act as co-head of the investment bank for Germany and Austria, according to a report by «Finanzen», a German news portal. UBS confirmed the appointment.

This is the second senior appointment at the UBS investment bank within days. Last week it announced another prominent arrival: Marco Illy, long-serving head of Credit Suisse’s investment bank assumed the lead of  the Swiss investment bank at UBS.

Pollems will take up his post as managing director and co-head of corporate client solutions (CSS) in Germany and Austria in the course of the coming year. He will report to Stefan Winter, and share the position with Philip von Malsen-Plessen.

Pollems is regarded as an expert in the chemicals field, and was most recently head of EMEA chemicals at Morgan Stanley in Frankfurt.
