Citigroup poached from UBS for its new head of corporate and investment banking for China.

The U.S. bank has named Guorong Jiang to lead the integrated corporate and investment banking activities in China, according to a press release.

Jiang will be based in Hong Kong and report to Mark Slaughter, head of the U.S. bank's securities business in Asia. He will also have a reporting line to Christine Lam, head of Citi in China.

He joins Citi from UBS, where he most recently served as head of China investment banking and vice-chairman of Asia investment banking.

He has also held roles with China International Capital Corporation, the Bank for International Settlements, Hong Kong Monetary Authority, and International Monetary Fund, and the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
