The British Virgin Islands firm bolstered its Hong Kong Litigation and Restructuring practice with a strategic new hire.

Harneys added to its litigation and restructuring practice in Hong Kong with the recruitment of consultant Lorinda Peasland, who joins the firm from DLA Piper where she was an equity partner for a number of years.

In her new role she will support partner Ian Mann, head of Harneys' Asia Litigation and Restructuring Practice, and partner Chai Ridgers, who leads Harneys' Restructuring and Insolvency Department in Hong Kong.

Peasland has over 25 years' experience in the restructuring and insolvency field, and in all types of corporate restructuring and formal insolvency transactions. She has considerable expertise in cross-border insolvency issues and finance-related contentious matters, with advanced specialist skills in banking and asset-based lending within the distressed corporate climate.

Harneys is the only offshore litigation team to have a dedicated restructuring department within it, which regularly advises high-profile clients on Asia’s most complex multi-jurisdictional restructuring deals.
