Taiwan Sets Stage for Asia’s Asset Management Future

In a landmark move to solidify its position as a leading financial hub in Asia, Taiwan is launching the inaugural Taiwan Weeks. This two-week initiative aims not just to spotlight Taiwan’s strengths, but to invite global partners into a transformative dialogue on the future of asset management across the region.

At a press conference in Taipei, Jin-Lung Peng, Chairperson of Taiwan’s Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC), unveiled Taiwan Weeks as a flagship step in Taiwan’s long-term strategy to attract international capital and further integrate with global finance.

The initiative from October 15 to 23, 2025, is more than promotional fanfare – it is a declaration of intent to become a powerhouse in global asset management.

Peng emphasized that Taiwan Weeks is designed to foster cross-border investment partnerships and global dialogue. It will serve as a collaborative platform for innovation exchange, investor engagement, and policy development, laying the groundwork for a more connected and resilient financial ecosystem.

Institutional Power Behind the Vision

Backed by the FSC’s Securities and Futures Bureau, Banking Bureau, and Insurance Bureau, the event also involves four of Taiwan’s leading financial infrastructure institutions: the Taiwan Stock Exchange, Taipei Exchange, Taiwan Futures Exchange, and Taiwan Depository & Clearing Corporation.

This coordination signals Taiwan’s serious commitment to the initiative’s long-term impact.

Policy, Products, and Purpose

Taiwan Weeks will host a spectrum of events, from high-level policy forums and investor dialogues to public expos and startup competitions. Each event is tailored to promote Taiwan’s regulatory clarity, product innovation, ESG commitment, and overall financial sophistication.

The official opening on October 15 will feature keynote speeches by global asset management leaders and panel discussions on market trends and inclusive growth strategies. In the days that follow, sessions will cover ESG frameworks, corporate governance innovation, ETF trends, and the internationalization of asset management practices.

Regional Beacon for Sustainable Finance

With Taiwan positioning itself at the intersection of sustainability and financial growth, many sessions will zoom in on ESG best practices and responsible investing.

Local institutions will demonstrate new investor relations platforms, while international experts will share insights on aligning market incentives with long-term environmental and social outcomes.

Empowering the Next Generation of Capital Markets

Another major highlight is the Asia Innovation Cup on October 21, which will link startups with capital markets through competitive pitches, panel discussions, and networking events. This reflects Taiwan’s ambition to become a launchpad for Asia’s most promising financial and entrepreneurial talent.
