StanChart Clients Get Liverpool FC Experience Up Close
Hundreds of clients from Standard Chartered got a rare chance to see Liverpool Football Club up and close. This is part of the bank’s efforts to provide what it calls «money-can’t-buy experiences».
Standard Chartered invited 300 corporate and affluent clients from markets, including Singapore, to the final few matches of the Premier League season involving Liverpool Football Club (LFC), according to a statement. The bank has been the club’s main partner since 2010.
In a May 11 match against Arsenal FC, clients participated in a pitch-side experience with one of their children having the opportunity to be a mascot walking alongside Liverpool players. A group of five clients, accompanied by global and Singapore international banking head James Lye, had a chance to take penalties against LFC goalkeeper Chris Kirkland.
A select group of clients also had a guided tour behind the scenes of the LFC training center and met with club executives who offered business and leadership insights.
Final Match
For the season finale against Crystal Palace on 25 May, the bank will be taking clients to Anfield to witness LFC lift the trophy for the 20th time and watch the victory bus parade the following day.
«We congratulate Liverpool FC on a remarkable season,» commented Patrick Lee, CEO, Singapore and ASEAN, Standard Chartered Bank. «Through our long-standing partnership with the Club, we have been able to create extraordinary experiences for our clients such as witnessing world-class football at Anfield. We’ve also brought the team to Singapore and ASEAN markets to engage with our colleagues and communities in this region.»
Standard Chartered is increasingly placing the spotlight on sports. Last month, it launched a fund managed by an external manager focused on sports, media and entertainment opportunities, made available for high net worth and ultra-high net worth clients within its private bank.
