QBE Re Appoints Head of Greater China
The reinsurance division of Sydney-headquartered QBE has announced the appointment of a Greater China head.
QBE Re has appointed Sven Liu as head of Greater China, according to a statement. In the newly created role, he will oversee portfolio management and growth opportunities for the Greater China region. Based in Singapore, he reports to Cindy Foo, who was named head of Asia in December 2025.
Liu has more than 16 years of experience across Asia and Europe in senior leadership roles spanning underwriting, client management and business development. Previously, he worked at Munich Re and Scor.
«We are delighted to welcome Sven to the role as we look to grow our Asia hub. Sven brings a wealth of experience to QBE Re and will play an important role in building out the portfolio in Greater China,» Foo said.
QBE Re is the reinsurance division of QBE Insurance Group. Based in Sydney, QBE had $22.4 billion in gross written premiums as of end-2024.
