JLL Expands Australasia Advisory and AM Platform
Chicago-based JLL has expanded its Australia and New Zealand hotels advisory and asset management platform with two new appointments.
JLL has appointed Wesley Milsom as executive vice president, asset management & strategic advisory, Australia and New Zealand, according to a statement. In the role, he will lead numerous key asset management mandates, operator selection transactions and strategic advisory assignments across the two priority markets.
Based in Sydney, he reports to Xander Nijnens, head of advisory & asset management, hotels & hospitality Group, Asia Pacific, while working closely with Ross Beardsell, executive vice president, hotels, Australia, to support existing clients and lead key initiatives.
Milsom has over 20 years of expertise in a variety of hotels and real estate advisory capacities, most recently working at Salter Brothers as a portfolio manager for its retreat resort assets across Australia.
Ex-Prosper Group Analyst
In addition, the firm has also appointed Tom Smeed as an associate within its Australia and New Zealand asset management and strategic advisory business. Smeed joins from Prosper Group where he was an analyst.
«The maturity of the Australian and New Zealand hotel market is mirrored by demands for new asset management and advisory solutions to optimize the performance of assets. JLL has long set the benchmark in these markets and with Wesley’s arrival we are extremely confident in building on our well-established leadership and depth of relationships in Australia and New Zealand’s evolving hotel economy,» commented Nijnens.
