Bonhams Delivers Record Asia Perfomance in 2025

British auction house Bonhams delivered record performance in Asia after three consecutive years of growth.

Through its Hong Kong office, Bonhams saw auctions and private sales in Asia Pacific grow three consecutive years to reach HK$810 million ($104 million) in 2025, according to a statement, marking a record high since opening in the region in 2007.

Overall, APAC contributed to approximately 21 percent of Bonhams’ total global transaction value across auctions and private sales.

Within APAC, Greater China remains the dominant buying force, with increased participation from Hong Kong, while Southeast Asia continues to demonstrate solid momentum. Australia was also named as a dynamic market in the region, with auction sales increasing 35 percent year-on-year.

Top Lot in the Region

The top lot sold by Bonhams in Asia via the Hong Kong unit was an imperial gilt copper-alloy figure of Longnü, Chongzhen period which fetched $3.5 million. Globally, this lot was ranked in the 10th position.
