Australia's Macquarie Group bulked up its open banking platform with the addition of a cloud-based fintech wealth service.

An Australian fintech startup, myprosperity, which offers a personal wealth platform for advisers, is partnering with Macquarie. The deal will allow the fintech's customers access to Macquarie’s investment and cash management accounts, myprosperity said in a media statement.

Myprosperity is headed by former Xero Australia managing director Chris Ridd, and claims to be the country's leading personal wealth platform. As a result of the partnership with Macqurie, the fintech's customers can connect their financial affairs through automated data feeds to gain a real-time, consolidated view of their financial position.

Macquarie was the first Australian-based bank to make its application programming interface available to third party developers. In September 2017, Macquarie gave approved third-party providers access to its application programming interface via the bank's open developer portal and test sandbox, called devXchange.
