Indosuez Wealth Management appoints two senior executives to its operations team in Hong Kong including the chief of the unit.

The French private bank names Michael van Ommeren as its Hong Kong chief operating officer, according to a statement, reporting to Olivier Livenais, chief executive of the branch.

Van Ommeren will be responsible for «enhancing the bank’s core functional and economic efficiency and driving its growth strategy in the region».

Van Ommeren has nearly two decades of banking and financial services experience, including his previous role as chief operating and digital officer for ABN AMRO in Hong Kong and Shanghai. The statement also underlined his experience in various European and Asian jurisdictions, in particular, his expertise with regulatory authorities in Hong Kong, Singapore and China.

Head of AML

The bank also named Allan Dampier as its new Hong Kong head of anti-money laundering (AML) in July this year, reporting to Chelsea Tong, the branch’s head of compliance and central files.

Dampier is a 30-year veteran and was most recently with HSBC Private Banking as its head of Hong Kong financial crime compliance and Asia regional business governance.

«[Van Ommeren and Dampier's] appointments underscore our commitment to consistently reinforce our efficiency and our strong regulatory and AML standards, enhance our services, and achieve robust growth,» Livenais said.
