Nuveen Seals Deal with Hunter Point Capital and Temasek
A major partnership cements Nuveen’s position as one of the world’s leading private credit players, with heavyweight backing from Hunter Point Capital and Singapore’s Temasek.
Nuveen Private Capital has announced a landmark partnership with Hunter Point Capital (HPC) and Temasek.
Under the deal, HPC and Temasek will take minority stakes in the $87 billion platform, while Temasek also commits long-term capital to both new and existing investment strategies.
From Merger to Market Leader
Formed in 2023 through Nuveen’s acquisition of Arcmont and its integration with Churchill Asset Management, Nuveen Private Capital has rapidly become a powerhouse. Over the past year alone, it deployed more than $21 billion across 400 companies, serving over 5,000 global investors.
«Welcoming Hunter Point Capital and Temasek is a point of pride and a testament to the deep bench of talent that has quickly propelled Nuveen Private Capital to become one of the leading private credit platforms in the world,» said Bill Huffman, Chief Executive Officer of Nuveen and Chairman of Nuveen Private Capital.
Validation of Scale and Strategy
Co-CEOs Ken Kencel and Anthony Fobel highlighted the significance of the deal: «This partnership provides strong validation of the scaled, highly differentiated platform that we have built together and reflects our shared commitment to continue enhancing the value we deliver to our investors, borrowers and private equity sponsors.»
HPC’s CEO and Co-Founder Avi Kalichstein praised Nuveen Private Capital’s reach: «Nuveen Private Capital’s global reach and deep local market expertise, combined with their longstanding relationships with sponsors and ability to source deal flow, are among the best in the industry.»
Majority Control Remains with Nuveen
Despite the new minority investors, Nuveen will retain majority ownership of Nuveen Private Capital. Senior management and employees at Churchill and Arcmont will also keep their minority stakes. The company stressed that there will be no changes to investment strategies, leadership, or day-to-day operations.
The transaction underscores Nuveen’s continued ambition to build out its private capital arm on a global scale, leveraging fresh capital, strategic expertise, and long-term commitments from some of the world’s most respected investors.
