HSBC Appoints Singapore Duo to Boost China-ASEAN Link
London-based HSBC has announced the appointment of two senior executives to strengthen its proposition for the China-ASEAN corridor.
HSBC Singapore has appointed Ying Wang as head of distribution, international wealth and premier banking (IWPB), according to a statement, reporting to Ashmita Acharya, head of IWPB – Singapore.
Wang is tasked with overseeing all sales and service channels, including the international wealth hub, direct sales and contact center. She will lead the team to focus on designing, unifying and scaling omnichannel distribution strategies.
Wang has more than 20 years of experience in wealth management, product development, customer acquisition and digital channels, most recently serving as head of wealth and premier solutions, HSBC China.
Corporation and Institutional Banking
In addition, the British lender has also named Irene Zeng as managing director, head of business development, China corridor, corporate and institutional banking (CIB), reporting to Gilbert Ng, head of banking – Singapore, CIB.
In the newly created role, Zeng will focus on strengthening the bank’s support for Chinese businesses and entrepreneurs with cross-border needs as they expand into Singapore and the broader ASEAN region. She will also work closely with CIB’s global network banking team as well as product and functional partners to deliver the bank’s full capabilities to clients.
Zeng has over 25 years of experience in corporate and transaction banking. She first joined HSBC in 2007 and was most recently head of global payments solutions, HSBC China.
China Corridor Proposition
According to HSBC, the two latest appointments are aimed at bolstering the bank’s China corridor proposition.
