Joining from HSBC Asset Management, he brings almost 30 years of global asset management experience.
Eastspring, the Asian investment arm of insurer Prudential, has appointed Bill Maldonado as head of equities, commencing 6 September 2021, the firm announced on Thursday.
Based in Singapore, he will be responsible for managing and further diversifying Eastspring’s equity strategies and reports to Boon Peng Ooi, head of Eastspring Portfolio Strategies.
Maldonado joins from HSBC Global Asset Management, where he was most recently the Asia Pacific chief investment officer and global chief investment officer, equities.
Expanding Reach

Operating in Asia since 1994, Eastspring managed $254 billion of assets on behalf of institutional and retail clients as at 30 June 2021.
