CBRE Names Regional Head for Data Center Investments

Dallas-headquartered real estate services and investment firm CBRE has appointed a regional data center head.

CBRE has appointed Shun Endo as head of data center, capital markets, Asia Pacific, according to a statement, based in Tokyo. In the newly created position, he will focus on developing a comprehensive data center platform to serve clients across APAC, collaborating closely with regional data center leads to deliver integrated solutions to meet the rising demand for data center investments.

Endo has extensive experience in driving data center investments, including land, core & shell facilities, and operational centers. Since 2024, he has executed transactions totaling over $4 billion, of which $1.8 billion are in data center transactions.

AI and Cloud Services

Investor appetite for data centers is on the rise, driven by artificial intelligence and cloud services. According to CBRE’s latest report, the global data center vacancy rate declined by 2.1 percentage points year-on-year to a record low of 6.6 percent in the first quarter of 2025, with demand expected to continue outpacing new supply in both core and emerging hubs.
