Hines Announces C-Suite Promotion in Singapore
US real estate investment manager Hines has announced a promotion to a C-suite role based in Singapore.
Hines has appointed Kian Fong Lim as chief operating officer, real estate, Asia Pacific, according to a statement, based in Singapore. In the expanded role, he will oversee real estate operations across administration, asset management and property management throughout the firm’s APAC portfolio. He will also continue to serve as head of Singapore and Southeast Asia, overseeing activities in the city-state and Vietnam.
«Kian Fong brings a unique blend of cultural fluency and regional expertise in capital raising and portfolio management, supported by years of executing complex transactions,» commented Jon Tanaka, head of APAC at Hines.
«With over a decade leading real estate investments in Japan, Singapore and Southeast Asia, and his fluency in English, Mandarin and Japanese, he is well-positioned to drive performance and unlock value across our Asia Pacific portfolio.»
«Strategic Evolution»
According to Hines, it embarked on a «strategic evolution» in July 2024 to position itself for long-term growth by strengthening its ability to deliver value through its «globally focused, vertically integrated model, spanning investment, development and property management».
«Our integrated platform allows us to seamlessly coordinate every stage of a real estate project, from deal sourcing to asset management,» said global head of real estate Steve Luthman. «In today’s macro environment, asset management is where we can create real alpha. Our ability to manage assets effectively as market conditions evolve is a core strength that sets us apart.»
Lim’s promotion follows other appointments, including Ray Lawler as head of Americas and Tanaka as APAC head. Within the region, the leadership team also includes head of Australia and New Zealand David Warneford, Japan co-head Saiko Ishii, Korea head Harry Lee, India head Amit Diwan and Greater China head Tina He.
Headquartered in Texas, Hines is a global real estate investment manager with 5,000 employees in 30 countries. As of the end of 2024, it owned and operated $90.1 billion of assets.
