It has opted for the color rose gold to stand for elegance, sophistication and warmth. The hummingbird holds deep symbolic meaning in Chinese culture, as they are seen as messengers of joy and love, spreading happiness and blessings wherever they go. And the blossoming roses are a representation of eternal spring and longevity.

Pictet

This year, Pictet has chosen a goldfish for its red packet design, representing abundance and prosperity. The sea animal is also seen as a symbol of harmony and happiness to bring good fortune and success.

This is accompanied by gold bubbles and a subtle floral texture alongside a complementary red canvas travel pouch.

Standard Chartered Global Private Bank

The global private banking arm of Standard Chartered showcases six different hongbaos that spotlight floral motifs in a refined palette of red, gold and green to convey auspicious greetings.

Each flower has its own distinct symbolism. The narcissus means to step into a new beginning with good fortune and accomplishments. The orchid stands for grace, beauty and elegance. The plum blossom inspires strength and hope for the year ahead. Marigold flowers illuminate the new year with abundance, prosperity and longevity. Peonies, also known as the «King of Flowers», embody beauty, wealth and honor. Finally, the lotus represents purity, harmony and spiritual enlivenment.

UBP

Crafted for the upcoming Year of the Snake in 2025, UBP’s lai see design features elegantly coiled branches and vines, surrounding symbols of renewal. Each of the three envelopes, available in red, pink and gold, bears a significant Chinese character: «fortune», «spring» and «luck».

The pair of elegant hummingbirds amongst beautiful florals, symbolizes positive energy, good luck and blessings. The branches wind around birds and flowers including peonies, magnolias, camellias, and plum blossoms, each representing prosperity, purity, admiration, and resilience, respectively.

UBS Global Wealth Management

Designed by Singapore artist Keng Lye, UBS’ red packets in its «2025 Spring Collection» feature magnificent golden pheasants soaring against and coming together in a backdrop of floral resplendence. Golden pheasants are messengers of good fortune, known to be highly creative and intuitive. The added holographic 3D texture elevates the vivid plumage of gold, red and green.

The design is framed by intricate dahlia flowers, a resilient bloom that symbolizes grace under pressure. The accompanying peony flower celebrates the beauty of the season but also brings wishes of auspicious beginnings to the recipient. With their lush blooms, each petal layer unfurls the message of unwavering resilience, beauty and abundance.

When the square and long packets are pieced together, they weave into a symbolic significance involving the number ‘6’ which signifies a prosperous homecoming and a smooth journey ahead.
