The Temasek and SGX-backed firm hopes to leverage her technical expertise and experience to build its position as a trusted and transparent capital markets platform.

Singapore-based iSTOX has hired Lim Mei Shern as its head of compliance, the firm announced in a press release on Tuesday.

Lim has extensive experience in fintech regulation in the capital markets industry – she worked for the Monetary Authority of Singapore for over 15 years supervising capital markets intermediaries, and was most recently a deputy director at the agency.

«As a licensed platform for digitized securities, we are fully committed to being compliant with all necessary regulatory requirements,» iSTOX co-founder and chief strategy officer Darius Liu said about the appointment of the former regulator.

New Era of Capital Fundraising

The iSTOX platform allows issuers to raise capital using digitized security offerings. Although iSTOX incorporates blockchain and smart contract technology as part of the platform infrastructure, it is not a cryptocurrency exchange, and all issuances are bought and sold using fiat currency.

The company is a recognised market operator within Singapore’s Fintech Regulatory Sandbox. It is operated by ICHX Tech and backed by Singapore Stock Exchange (SGX) and Temasek subsidiary Heliconia Capital Management.
