J.P. Morgan Researcher Joins HKMA

A J.P. Morgan researcher has joined the Hong Kong Monetary Authority to cover macroeconomics.

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority has appointed Zhu Haibin as executive director (research), according to a statement, effective October 1. The appointment was made by the city’s financial secretary on the advice of the Governance Sub-Committee of the Exchange Fund Advisory Committee. In the role, Zhu will be responsible for research relating to macroeconomics and financial stability.

Zhu has extensive experience in economic research, currently working at J.P. Morgan as managing director, chief China economist and head of Greater China economic research. Previously, he was a senior economist at the Bank for International Settlements.
