Next year represents a return to experiential luxury after the pandemic puts the brakes on the budding segment. One high-octane option is a visit to Italy, where Massimo Bottura, the chef behind Michelin-starred Osteria Francescana in Modena, is teaming up with Ferrari on a new restaurant at the luxury carmaker’s Maranello headquarters.
The plan was unveiled last year but hit a snag during the pandemic. Bottura, who wiled his time with online ventures while speaking weekly to Ferrari about the project, is due to open «Cavallino» in March.
4. «Diordan» Luxury

French fashion house Dior’s collaboration with famed basketballer Michael Jordan has birthed the shoe of 2020, the Air Jordan Dior. First seen at a Dior show last year, the luxe shoe balancing classic and high-style is a limited production – 13,000 pairs were manufactured, 5,000 of which were offered to top clients through a personal invite.
The strategy to heighten the brand’s desirability by throttling supply worked: five million hopeful buyers registered for the chance to snag a pair from Dior, leading to a surge in prices for the «Diordan» on resale venues.

If 2020 has underscored one thing, it is groundedness and domesticity. Sotheby’s is picking up on the theme with a variety of auctions including a selection of museum-grade contemporary art from private collections – but bidding ends on Wednesday.
The auction house’s Swiss office specializes in advice and valuations for valuables like jewelry, wine collections, or artwork.
