Singlife Appoints 30-Year Financial Vet as Board Member

Singaporean insurer Singlife has appointed a 30-year financial veteran as an independent non-executive director.

Singlife has appointed Leo Mun Wai as an independent non-executive director to the boards of Singapore Life Holdings Pte. Ltd and Singapore Life Ltd, according to a statement. He will also serve as a member of the risk and audit committees.

Leo has over 30 years of experience in the financial sector, including more than two decades in senior regulatory roles and a decade of board-level leadership. Previously, he served on the board of Great Eastern Life Assurance Singapore Ltd and Great Eastern General Insurance Ltd, and is currently a board member of Capitaland Integrated Commercial Trust.

Prior to his corporate board roles, he worked at the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) as executive director of banking supervisor before retiring as assistant managing director, tasked with the regulation and supervision of Singapore’s capital markets. He was also the founding member of the Casino Regulatory Authority and as a member of the Securities Industry Council.
