StanChart Hires Asian Investment Banking Heavyweight
UK-headquartered Standard Chartered has hired a former Citi executive and Asian investment banking heavyweight in Hong Kong.
Standard Chartered has appointed Jan Metzger as global head, coverage banking, within the corporate and investment banking (CIB) team, according to a statement. Based in Hong Kong, he will also become a member of the CIB management team and report to CIB CEO Roberto Hoornweg.
Metzger has 20 years of experience in Asia serving corporates, financial institutions and public sector clients with investment banking, credit, and transaction banking. He joins from Citi, where he was most recently co-head of investment banking for Asia Pacific. Previously, he also worked at Credit Suisse and Deutsche Bank.
