Julius Baer Announces Board Changes, New Vice Chair

Swiss private bank Julius Baer has appointed two new board members, including a technology and finance veteran as vice chair.

Julius Baer has appointed Juerg Hunziker as vice chairman of its board of directors, according to a statement, subject to approval by shareholders. He succeeds Richard Campbell-Breeden, who has decided not to seek re-election at the next annual general meeting.

Hunziker is a 40-year veteran who previously worked at Avaloq, FIS (formerly known as SunGard Financial Systems) and UBS before joining Julius Baer’s board in 2023

«I am delighted that Juerg has agreed to succeed Richard as Vice Chairman. Since I became Chairman, I have seen first-hand the value of Juerg’s 40 years of technology and financial services knowledge, both internationally and in Switzerland, as well as his experience as a CEO building high-quality customer-focused organizations,» said Julius Baer chairman Noel Quinn.

The bank also announced that ex-FINMA CEO Urban Angehrn has agreed to join the board as an independent non-executive director, subject to shareholder approval.
