Julius Baer Appoints Operations and Communications Heads
Zurich-based Julius Baer has hired former executives from HSBC and Credit Suisse to lead operations and communications globally.
Julius Baer has appointed Jean Nabaa as chief operations officer (COO) and member of the executive board, according to a statement, effective April 13 and subject to final regulatory approval. He succeeds Nic Dreckmann, who stepped down as COO and deputy CEO on April 13 and will leave the bank by summer this year to pursue opportunities elsewhere.
Nabaa has 20 years of financial experience, most recently at HSBC, where he was COO for International Wealth and Premier Banking and COO for Global Private Banking. Prior to that, he held COO positions at Standard Chartered and Bank of America Merrill Lynch after beginning his career at McKinsey & Company in Switzerland.
New Group Function
In addition, Julius Baer has formed a new group communications function led by Cindy Leggett-Flynn, who will report directly to CEO Stefan Bollinger.
Leggett-Flynn is a veteran in the field, serving most recently as global head of communications at Credit Suisse during the UBS takeover. Previously, she was also chief communications officer at AIG and spent 16 years at Brunswick Group as a partner and managing partner for Greater China.
