J.P. Morgan’s asset management arm strengthens its Australia and New Zealand business with a handful of new appointments.

Mark Carlile has been named to the newly created role of head of wholesale, Australia & New Zealand at J.P. Morgan Asset Management (JPMAM), according to a statement.

Based in Melbourne, he reports to JPMAM chief executive Andrew Creber.

Carlile is a 30-year financial veteran and has been working at JPMAM for eight years, most recently as head of strategic relationships before expanding to his current role.

Adding Client Advisors

In addition, JPMAM has also hired two client advisors – Sydney-based Justin Sultana and Melbourne-based Stephanie Harrison – to join Carlile’s wholesale team while Josh Peel joins JPMAM’s institutional unit as a client advisor reporting directly to Creber.

Sultana joins JPMAM from First Sentier Investors to focus on distribution in the northern states while Harrison joins from Vanguard Investments to focus on distribution in the southern states.

Peel is a 20-year veteran, most recently with Partners Group as a managing director focused on raising capital across private markets. Previously, he also worked at Credit Suisse and Park Hill Group.

«Australia has been one of the key strategic markets for JPMAM’s growth in APAC,» said Creber in the statement. «We see particularly strong demand and opportunities in alternative assets, fixed income and sustainable investing solutions and look to further expand our offerings in these areas.»
