Vontobel Expands Asian Reach With Industry Veteran
Vontobel is advancing its Asia expansion with a senior hire aimed at deepening intermediary relationships and positioning the firm for long-term growth across the region.
Swiss investment house Vontobel has appointed Cody Law as Senior Relationship Manager for Intermediary Clients to support client engagement and develop the firm’s distribution business by building partnerships with major financial intermediaries.
Law brings more than 22 years of experience in the Asia intermediary market and has a strong record of driving business growth, the bank further said in a note on Thursday.
Proven Client-Focused Credentials
He previously oversaw financial intermediary relationships in Hong Kong at Jupiter Asset Management, and before that partnered with Hong Kong intermediary clients at Janus Henderson Investors to deliver innovative solutions.
Earlier in his career, Law spent 16 years in investment counselling and relationship management roles at HSBC, Citibank, and Standard Chartered Bank, working with high-net-worth clients on portfolios and investment products. He holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Honours) from the University of Hong Kong.
Positioned for Expansion
Law’s deep network in Hong Kong and experience across the intermediary landscape make him «an invaluable addition» as Vontobel prepares for its strategic entry into the Asia retail space, Clarabelle Ho, Head Asia Intermediary, said.
She added that his expertise will strengthen the firm’s market presence and help support long-term growth.
Established Asia Footprint
The firm has operated in Asia Pacific since 2008 and currently serves clients from Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo and Sydney – an established regional presence that lays the foundation for broader coverage and expansion.
With 239.7 billion francs in assets under management as of September 30, 2025, Zurich-based Vontobel positions itself as an investment-led global firm acting «purely from the client’s perspective» while leveraging technology to scale advisory and investment expertise across platforms.
