Eastspring Appoints Head of Quant Strategies

The Asian asset management arm of Prudential has hired a former HSBC executive to lead its quant strategies.

Eastspring Investments has appointed Ioannis Kampouris as head of quantitative strategies, according to a statement, effective October 6. In the role, he will lead the firm’s quantitative strategies team and strengthen analytics capabilities, drive thought leadership in cross-asset quantitative research and commercialize systematic strategies. Based in Singapore, he will report to chief investment officer Vis Nayar.

Kampouris joins from HSBC Asset Management in the UK, where he served as co-head of quantitative equity strategies.

Operating since 1994, Eastspring is the Asia-based asset management arm of Prudential. As of June 30, it had $275 billion in assets under management.
