Blackstone Hires 20-Year Vet for Credit and Insurance Unit
Alternatives specialist Blackstone has hired an industry veteran to join its credit and insurance division.
Blackstone has hired Kimberly Kim as senior managing director and head of APAC insurance institutional client solutions for Blackstone Credit & Insurance (BXCI), according to a statement. In the newly created role, she will support the expansion of the business in the region.
Kim has more than 20 years of experience in the APAC insurance market. Prior to her latest appointment, she was working at BlackRock as head of financial institutions coverage in APAC.
APAC Business Growth
According to Blackstone, BXCI has scaled its APAC business in recent times, committing to more than 20 deals over the last three years, expanding relationships with investors, including some of the largest insurers in the region, and doubling its headcount with key hires across Sydney, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Singapore.

She adds to Blackstone’s deep bench of talent in the region, which has been a key driver of our differentiation and success for more than two decades,» said Tyler Dickson, BXCI’s global head of client relations.
BXCI invests in credit markets including private investment grade, asset-based lending, public investment grade and high yield, sustainable resources, infrastructure debt, collateralized loan obligations, direct lending and opportunistic credit. It manages over $250 billion of insurance client capital across private credit, liquid credit and other strategies as well as $484 billion in corporate and real estate credit assets.
