HSBC GPB Names Top Asia Investment Counsellor

The private banking arm of HSBC has bolstered its investment capabilities with a senior appointment in Asia.

HSBC Global Private Banking (GPB) has appointed Edmund Lo as regional head of investment counsellors (IC), Asia Pacific, according to a statement, effective August 5. Based in Hong Kong, he will report to Lok Yim, regional head of HSBC GPB, APAC.

In the role, Lo will lead the IC team across the region while working alongside market and product specialists from the wealth and premier solutions team. He will also leverage the bank’s analytics tool, HSBC Prism Advisory, to deliver strategic investment advice and tailored solutions.

Lo has 24 years of banking experience, having joined HSBC in 2011 and its private banking arm in 2017, most recently serving in the latest role on an interim basis. Previously, he was also the head of offshore China corporate treasury sales in the bank’s global markets unit. Prior to joining the British lender, he held senior corporate sales roles at other banks.
