HSBC Asset Management has hired an industry veteran to lead its efforts in exchange-traded funds.
Marco Montanari joins HSBC Asset Management as its global capability head, ETF and indexing, according to a statement, reporting to Guillaume Rabault, chief investment officer (CIO), quant equities.
In the newly created Hong Kong-based role, Montanari will work closely with the sales and investment teams to build a passive offering.
Montanari has over 20 years of industry experience, most recently as APAC head of product management at DWS. Previously, he was also head of passive management for 10 years after relocating from London where he was head of fixed income ETFs structuring.
«[Montanari’s] appointment will enable us to accelerate our delivery of innovative equity and fixed income solutions, combining optimal financial returns and tangible sustainability outcomes,» said global CIO Xavier Baraton.
