Natixis has appointed a new Head of Sponsor Finance, Asia, Corporate & Investment Banking, and a new Head of Mergers & Acquisitions, Asia Pacific, Corporate & Investment Banking.

Bianca Law, the new head of Sponsor Finance at Natixis, is based in Hong Kong and reports to Jean-Thomas Haller, Head of Acquisition & Strategic Finance (ASF), Asia Pacific. «Law has a wealth of experience originating, leading and structuring transactions in multiple sectors across Asia, and will be a significant asset to the ASF team,» said Haller in a media statement on Monday. 

Separately, Miranda Zhao has been appointed as Head of Mergers & Acquisitions, Asia Pacific, Corporate & Investment Banking. She reports to Raghu Narain, Head of Investment Banking, Asia Pacific.

Law's New Role

In her new role, Law will be responsible for developing Natixis’ sponsor finance capabilities in Asia, working closely with the coverage team to provide financing solutions to corporate clients in the region. Her most recent role before joining Natixis was leading the Loan Syndications team at Standard Chartered Bank in Hong Kong.

Prior to that, Law held roles in Strategic Client Coverage and Leveraged Finance at Standard Chartered in Asia. She also brings with her experience from Citigroup, Macquarie, HSBC and Credit Suisse. She has more than 20 years’ investment banking experience with a strong focus on leveraged finance and syndicated loans. 

Zhao's Track Record

Miranda Zhao has an extensive investment banking experience across Asia-Pacific and Europe, with a strong focus on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, the firm said. In her new role, Miranda will be responsible for leading the development of M&A activities for the Asia Pacific platform, working closely with the bank’s in-house teams as well as its network of boutiques in the region and globally.

Zhao's most recent role before joining Natixis was as Head of Mergers & Acquisitions at China Everbright Capital Limited. Prior to that, she worked for various global investment banks, including Morgan Stanley, Merrill Lynch and The Royal Bank of Scotland/CIMB.

Natixis has an international M&A network, which counts more than 300 professionals across seven specialized companies worldwide. In Asia Pacific, this includes Vermilion Partners, a specialist in cross-border transactions in China, in which Natixis made a majority investment in March 2018, and Azure Capital, one of Western Australia’s leading boutique M&A advisory firms, of which Natixis acquired a majority stake in May 2019.
