A veteran banker has announced his departure from Credit Suisse, where he was a director, and was named as Lombard Odier's new managing partner.

Lombard Odier has announced that Alexandre Zeller, who also announced his departure from Credit Suisse, will join the firm as managing partner on 1 March, the Swiss-based global wealth and asset manager said in a press release on Thursday.

As managing partner, Zeller will assume the functional responsibility for Lombard Odier's Technology and Operations Unit at group level. In this capacity, he will be based in Geneva and will be in charge of innovation and new technologies at the service of customers, as well as for digitalisation projects, the firm said.

Successful Career

One of the leading figures in Swiss banking, Zeller made his career in a number of Swiss and international banking and financial institutions. He was chairman of the SIX Group from 2013 to 2016 and was the CEO of HSBC Private Bank for Switzerland, Europe and the Middle East from 2008 until 2012. He was previously CEO of the Banque Cantonale Vaudoise in Lausanne from 2002 to 2008, following a successful career at Credit Suisse, where he was CEO Private Banking Switzerland.
