Audi and Revolut Put a Fintech Stamp on Formula One

Audi has formally unveiled the Audi Revolut F1 Team, confirming its official name, logo, and a Berlin launch date of January 20, 2026 – a milestone that crystallises the German manufacturer’s entry into Formula One and highlights the growing strategic value of fintech partnerships in elite global sport.

The title partnership with Revolut, confirmed in July 2025, goes well beyond logo placement. The collaboration positions the British fintech at the core of the team’s identity, aligning two brands that emphasise innovation, performance and global reach.

For Revolut, the alliance supports its ambition to accelerate international growth and expand engagement across one of the world’s most commercially powerful sports platforms.

Brand Experience

The Berlin reveal will mark the first full public presentation of the Audi Revolut F1 Team’s identity, including the unveiling of its 2026 race livery. Framed as an immersive event, the launch is intended to showcase Audi’s design principles – clarity, technical intelligence and emotion – while extending access beyond the paddock through a public opening the following day.

Revolut’s role also extends into the team’s business infrastructure. Revolut Business will be integrated into financial operations, while Revolut Pay will power the team’s online merchandise store, reinforcing the partnership’s commercial logic and demonstrating how fintech solutions can be embedded directly into high-performance organisations.

Corporate Restructuring Signals Long-Term Commitment

As part of Audi’s Formula One programme, Sauber Motorsport will be renamed Audi Motorsport, and the UK facility in Bicester will become the Audi Motorsport Technology Centre UK. These changes underline Audi’s intent to operate as a fully fledged factory team, while retaining the legacy Sauber Holding and Sauber Technologies names to preserve continuity.

Revolut CEO Nik Storonsky described the partnership as a catalyst for scale, stating that the team name and logo are «the first symbols of a powerful alliance that will accelerate Revolut’s global growth». Audi Chairman Gernot Döllner added that the unveiling gives the company’s Formula One ambition «a clear identity, reflecting a strong vision and innovative spirit».

Building Credibility Ahead of 2026 Regulations Reset

Team leadership emphasised execution and timing.

Head of the Audi Revolut F1 Team Mattia Binotto highlighted a culture of «precision and relentless ambition», while Team Principal Jonathan Wheatley called the announcement «a crucial milestone» that makes the project’s long-term goals tangible as Formula One prepares for new regulations that will lift the electric share of hybrid power units to almost 50 percent.

Why Investors and Strategists Watch Closely

For financially savvy observers, the Audi Revolut F1 Team illustrates how global brands are using Formula One as a convergence point for technology, sustainability and customer acquisition.

With Revolut targeting 100 million customers and Audi positioning itself at the forefront of electrified performance, the partnership reflects a broader shift: motorsport as a scalable business platform rather than a pure marketing expense.
