Frieze London: Deutsche Bank Strengthens Cultural Legacy
Deutsche Bank celebrates French artist’s visionary exploration of Earth, ecology, and time at its 2025 Lounge.
French visual artist Noémie Goudal takes center stage at the Deutsche Bank Lounge at Frieze London and Frieze Masters 2025.
Following her acclaimed Marcel Duchamp Prize exhibition at the Centre Pompidou in 2024, the presentation coincides with her London solo show at Edel Assanti, on view until December.
Crossing Boundaries of Art and Science

Spanning film, sculpture, photography, and performance, Goudal’s practice sits at the crossroads of ecology and Earth sciences. Her works, many never before shown in the UK, invite visitors to question time, perception, and the fragile balance of our planet.
Deutsche Bank first acquired Goudal’s work in 2022 for its London headquarters at 21 Moorfields. Showcasing her at Frieze highlights the bank’s 22-year partnership with the fair and its commitment to fostering dialogue between finance, art, and society.
«Her artistic vision resonates strongly with the values of the Deutsche Bank Collection,» said Britta Färber, the bank’s Global Head of Art & Culture.

Visitors will navigate a corridor lined with steel, covered in intimate printed images drawn from Goudal’s research boards.
Displayed publicly for the first time, these collaged sequences reveal the mind-maps of her studio practice, offering a rare window into the thinking behind her art.
Sculptures Inspired by Earth’s Origins
At the heart of the lounge stands «Terrella», a freestanding installation of 15 clay and porcelain sculptures created in collaboration with historian Gabriel Gohau.
Each piece embodies a different cosmological theory of Earth’s formation, from medieval monks to modern scientists, underscoring Goudal’s fascination with geological time and human attempts to explain the planet’s mysteries.
Breaking Illusions of Photography
Known for her deconstructivist approach, Goudal disrupts the idea of photography as truth.
By using trompe-l’œil techniques and staged environments, she reframes the natural world as a space of transformation, fiction, and continual flux—a visual dialogue between perception and reality.
Deutsche Bank’s Cultural Commitment
Through its Art & Culture program, Deutsche Bank has built one of the world’s leading corporate collections, supporting contemporary artists for more than 45 years.
With public art tours, the Artist of the Year initiative, and Berlin’s PalaisPopulaire, the bank continues to position art as an integral part of its identity and global reach.
