BOS Nets Ex-HSBC Private Banker for Greater China Market
Singapore-based OCBC’s private banking unit has hired a 30-year veteran and former HSBC executive to cover the Greater China market.
Bank of Singapore has appointed Eng Chien Chan as market group head for Greater China, according to a statement, effective March 17. Based in Singapore, he will report to Rickie Chan, Greater China head of private banking and Hong Kong branch chief executive.
Eng Chien Chan has nearly 30 years of banking experience, most recently as market head for Taiwan and co-head for offshore China at HSBC Private Bank in Singapore. Prior to that, he also held senior leadership roles at Credit Suisse, Nomura, and Citi, overseeing teams across global markets, and event‑driven and cross‑asset structured solutions.
«In 2025, our Greater China business recorded strong momentum and was a key contributor to the bank's overall growth,» commented Rickie Chan. «Our continued ability to attract talent reaffirms the appeal of Bank of Singapore to private bankers who want to be part of our growth journey.»
