Allianz Trade Appoints CEO for Hong Kong Hub

Leadership change at Allianz Trade marks a new era for growth across Hong Kong, South Korea, and Taiwan.

Allianz Trade in Asia Pacific has appointed Hassan Omaish as CEO for its Hong Kong Hub, which covers Hong Kong, South Korea, and Taiwan, according to a media release on Wednesday.

Effective 1 October 2025, Omaish will succeed Edmond Lee, who retires after 12 years of dedicated leadership. The appointment signals Allianz Trade’s commitment to expanding its footprint in some of the region’s most dynamic markets.

Familiar Face Returns

Omaish is no stranger to Asia. Having spent much of his 15-year career with Allianz Trade in the region, he now returns from his global role as Head of Broker Management and Partnerships.

His track record includes senior positions in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, with previous leadership roles as Commercial Director for ASEAN and the Hong Kong Hub, as well as Country Manager for Malaysia. His extensive exposure to the Gulf Cooperation Council region further underscores his international expertise.

Driving Partnerships and Growth

In his global role, Omaish successfully shaped broker strategies, expanded business channels, and fostered closer collaboration with Allianz entities worldwide.

His new mandate is to apply this experience to drive growth in Hong Kong, South Korea, and Taiwan, strengthening partnerships and delivering innovative solutions to meet client needs in an evolving risk environment.

Vision For The Hub

Omaish described his appointment as both an honor and an opportunity. «I look forward to rejoining the APAC region to lead our growth strategies across these dynamic markets,» he said.

Highlighting his aim to strengthen partnerships and deliver innovative solutions, Omaish emphasized the importance of helping clients navigate both emerging and persistent risks. He also praised the Hong Kong Hub team for its expertise and energy, calling it crucial to the team's future success.
