HSBC Names Wealth Solutions Head in Singapore

London-based HSBC has bolstered the product capabilities of its wealth management business in Singapore with a new appointment.

HSBC has appointed Ishan Sarkar as head of wealth and premier solutions (WPS) for Singapore, according to a statement, effective July 1. Based in Singapore, he reports jointly to Ashmita Acharya, head of international wealth and premier banking, HSBC Singapore, and Stefan Lecher, head of WPS Asia.

In the role, Sarkar will drive a differentiated wealth strategy for Singapore, including the development and management of the full suite of wealth products, platforms and customer journey across all segments, from premier to ultra-high net worth.

Sarkar has 20 years of product experience in investment and sales roles at various global financial institutions. He joined HSBC six years ago and was most recently head of capital markets for the private banking and wealth unit in Southeast Asia.
