London-headquartered M&G Investments has hired a former Janus Henderson executive to lead risk and compliance in the Asia Pacific region.

M&G Investments appoints Elaine Cheung as head of risk and compliance, APAC, according to a statement, effective October 9. In the newly created role, she will lead risk and compliance functions and have advisory compliance oversight of the firm’s investment capabilities in the region.

Cheung has over 20 years of legal, risk, and compliance experience in the financial sector, most recently at Janus Henderson Investors. Previously, she also held regional roles at Ashmore, PIMCO and BlackRock.
